Happy Father's Day (or in the case of this card, Happy Dad's Day) to my dad and to my hubby.. and to all the Dad's out there! I hope you all have a fabulous day! I just love this Proverb - “Any man can be a father, but it takes a special person to be a dad”. A few days ago I showed you the card that I made for my dad. Today I'm showing you the card that I made Sabrina to give to her daddy.
I decided to play along in a couple of challenges as well. The first is Verve's Ready Set Stamp Challenge to use the set, Seeing Stars. Before I got started, I looked around for some sketch inspiration and decided to use FTL95 from the Clean & Simple blog. I had to laugh, though, because my card really isn't all that clean and simple!
There are 3 different sizes of stars in the set and a couple of fun patterns, but I decided to use the plain open stars. I started by randomly stamping them, then I paper-pieced them with some fun My Mind's Eye So Sophie coordinating paper. It took a little bit of time, but I love the fun background paper. The sentiment is from the Dad's Day set.
I added a little punched star border and for my focal embellishment, I used one of the stars from the set and thought it would be fun to layer something on top of it. So, I took a break from making my card and searched in my stash. I didn't find anything that I liked, so I looked online for a crochet star pattern and found this one (I used the one posted by Cricketnc in the Feedback section). It took just a few minutes to make the star, then I topped it with a button.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
