Good morning and Happy Friday! Today I have a project for the JustRite Friday Challenge (JRC_024)! Sharon has provided a wonderful sketch as well as the challenge to use Red, White and Blue in honor of Independence Day. Please be sure to visit the JustRite Inspiration blog for all the challenge details.
One of the things I love most about JustRite Stampers is the ability to create my own custom sayings, whether it is a greeting or quote. Today I used the JustRite Times New Roman Uppercase Font (JB-08060) in 25 pt to stamp this fabulous quote, "My patriotic heart beats red, white & blue" (by Unknown). Since I knew that I wanted to cut this out in an oval shape, I spelled it all out on the Wood Stamper Oval 2 -1/4" x 3-1/16“ (JB-08119), stamped and cut out with a Spellbinders Oval die.
I used some coordinating patterned papers from Basic Grey's Oliver 6x6 pad (stripe, polka dot and solids). I used my Cuttlebug Stars embossing folder to emboss the stars on the white panel. I added 3 of my own crochet stars to the left side and adhered a red, white and navy blue Candy Dot to the center of each star (for the red one, I colored it with my R89 Copic marker so that it would be a better match for my dark red).
Note: The stars are the same as the one I made for my Dad's Day card. Click HERE for the crochet pattern I used (it's the first one listed in the feedback section).
For more JustRite inspiration, please visit the JustRite Inspiration blog. You have until next Thursday, July 1 @ 9 AM CST to make your project and link it on the blog. I can't wait to see your creations!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend!
