About a year ago, I made the switch from a digital point and shoot (P&S) to a digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera because I wanted to take my photography skills to another level. I have not regretted the switch at all. I think that my skills have improved, but I'm nowhere near the level that I'd like to be, and that's ok. It's all a learning process, after all. I have also learned that Photoshop (and shooting in RAW mode) can be my friend. The downsides are that I can spend a lot of time on the computer AND I think I need a new computer soon (hard drive space runneth over...)!
Though I prefer to shoot with my DSLR (aka "big" camera), I do still carry the P&S in my pocket or purse for those moments when I don't have it or can't just pull it out quickly. One of those times? Sitting in the parking lot at school, waiting for the Kindergarten playground to open. Each day we get to school early enough so that we can get a parking space, then we wait. Thanksfully, Sabrina is usually content to watch Barney on the DVD player for a little while. These photos were taken with the P&S while waiting one morning. I did a little PS (Photoshop) work on them and also converted to black & white. Sabrina is signing "wait" in the 2nd photo (a sign and word that she mimics often).
Hope you all have a great weekend! I hope to be back soon with some new card shares!
