World Card Making Day with Taylored Expressions

Hello! Happy Saturday and Happy World Card Making Day! In honor of World Card Making Day, Taylored Expressions has decided to host a month-long party filled with ultra fun challenges and prizes called the Stamp 'n Send Challenge!

What is Stamp 'n Send? Well, let's start by asking how many of you have a ton of fab cards that you've made just languishing on your craft table? We want you to create and SEND those cards out! Each week, we'll host a new challenge in the Taylored Expressions Member Forum at SplitcoastStampers. For every card you make AND send (we're trusting you to actually get those cards in the mail) you'll be entered into a drawing for a spiffy prize. Plus, for EVERY entry, you will be entered into a drawing for a Grand Prize package worth $100 to help you make more cards!

All challenge details will be available on the Taylored Expressions WCMD Stamp 'n Send Challenge thread at
SplitcoastStampers. Plus, look for details on how you can earn an extra entry by displaying the challenge badge on your blog! Now for today's challenge...

Stamp 'n Send Challenge #1: Sketch Some Sunshine
Challenge Hostess: Jen Shults
Sending cards also means sending sunshine into someone's life who may be going through a rough time. We are challenging you to send some sunshine to a nursing home, hospital, or in the armed services! To help you out, we've got a fabulous sketch from our very own Baker's Dozen sketch-anista, Jen Shults ! You know her from her fab blog, Deconstructing Jen and she's come up with a Sketch Challenge for you!

So, to be entered into this week's challenge prize drawing for a $10 Gift Certificate to the Taylored Expressions Store , simply follow these challenge requirements:

~Follow Jen's sketch and create a card
~SEND your card to a nursing home, hospital, or to someone serving in the military
~Visit the Stamp 'n Send Challenge: Sketch Some Sunshine thread at SplitcoastStampers and leave a comment telling us who you sent your card to, along with a photo of your card or a link to a photo of your card

It's that easy! For EVERY card you create following the challenge requirements, you will be entered into this week's prize drawing. PLUS, for EVERY entry, you will also be entered into the Grand Prize drawing for an amazing prize package worth $100!

Here's my sample using Jen's sketch:

I used Moka Hope for my card today. I stamped, colored and fussy cut her out, then I popped her on top of my layout. As you can see, I added lots of layers and distressing! I used both Choice Buttercream and Kraft cardstock as well as patterned paper from the My Mind's Eye - The Sweetest Thing Lavender collection. I stamped the sentiment "Hope" and die cut with the ornament die from the newly released Very Merry Outlines Dies (I love how it can be both an ornament and a tag!).
