MTME Trendy Tool Tote © Gift Set

Hello! I hope you had a great weekend and your week is off to a great start! Today is my day to share one of my favorite projects from the May MTME © release! I used the Trendy Tool Tote © template (wow, that's a mouthful.. trying saying that 3 times fast!!) Be sure to visit Lauren today, too.. I'm pretty sure she has a project that you won't want to miss!

When I first saw the tote, I thought it was really cute, but I wasn't sure how sturdy it would be... let me tell you.. I was amazed at how well it holds up and how much it can hold! It would be so cute to make a few of these to hold some little jars of embellishments (buttons come to mind) in a craft room or even some office supplies on a teacher's desk... the possibilities are endless!! I made this one for Elisa, one of Sabrina's aides who celebrated a birthday over the weekend (Happy Birthday, Elisa!!!). I filled it with some Starbuck's coffee, cappuccino Lindt candies and a yummy candle!

Note: I changed things up a bit before I gave the gift, but I didn't re-photograph it. I removed the candle from the box and replaced the small bag of coffee with a larger bag and more Lindt candies (I know she loves coffee and chocolate!). I decided that I would give her the candle during Teacher Appreciation Week, and I didn't want the flavors/scents to mix.

I made the box out of Blushing cardstock (from Couture) and used the decorative pieces to cover the sides, front and back in some Prima butterfly paper matted onto Dark Chocolate. I added some stitching to all the pieces before I attached them and finished them off with some pearls. I am hoping once the box is empty, Elisa will find a good use for it!

For the tag, I cut out one of the All Tied Up © Circle cut files and stamped it using All a Flutter Sentiments ©. It reads "Cherish Yesterday Dream Tomorrow Live Today". I added some color with Copic markers and bling with Star Dust Stickles then I lightly sponged the edges. I popped it on top of a Spellbinders Labels Thirteen die cut.

I tied a couple of different colors of my dyed seam binding ribbon on the handle and added a pearl hat pin. Here's the view from above:

The accompanying card is a one-layer card (shock, I know!!). I ran a Spellbinders Labels Eight die through my Cuttlebug to create the embossed frame. Next I stamped the tulip from Sensational Stems © (such a wonderful build-a-flower set!). Happy Birthday is from Just For You © (released last month).

Thanks so much for stopping by!
