Ribbon Organization

Hi there! Hope you all had a great weekend! I didn't do any stamping over the weekend, so I don't have anything new to show right now. I spent the weekend trying to recover from the nasty cold I've had for over a week (still have a lingering cough) and trying to get my house cleaned and organized. I've decided that 2009 is the year that I get more organized and go through all of those boxes we've moved from house to house to house that now reside in the garage.

I've had a few requests to show you my new organized stamp room -- it's still a work in progress, but I can show you my new ribbon organization. This is a sampling of what I started with:

And this is the progress I made:

I got the idea from Nichole Heady here. I've tried various ribbon organization products, but this seems to be the best solution for me. I still keep large rolls of ribbon on spools, but for the ribbons that I have 5 yards or less, I decided to wind them onto inexpensive clothespins. I never knew there were clothespins like these - my mom always used the ones with the spring clip. These are round slotted clothespins that I found at the Dollar Tree. The glass jars are small penny/candy jars that I found at Target. I separate them by color - the last photo above is a close up is of my pink/brown ribbon jar! Now instead of rummaging through boxes, I can just grab a jar, shake it around and look for the ribbon that I want!

Since I got a good headstart on Valentine's Day cards, now I need to work on Valentine's for Sabrina's classmates and teacher/therapist gifts. Thanks for stopping by!
